Jakarta, 14 August 2025 â The Indonesian Bonded Logistics Center Association (PPLBI) together with the Bonded Zone Entrepreneurs Association (APKB) collaborated with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) to hold a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled "Policy and Industry Collaboration in Strengthening Domestic Industry" at the KADIN Indonesia Tower, Jakarta.
Objectives and Participants
This event was attended by representatives from various associations, industry players, government agencies, as well as members of PPLBI and APKB. The FGD aimed to bridge communication between policymakers and business actors to strengthen national industry competitiveness, particularly in facing import challenges and driving the growth of small, medium, and large industries.
Opening and Keynote Speech
The event was opened with remarks from PPLBI Chairperson, Utami Prasetiawati, who emphasized the importance of synergy among stakeholders to create a more competitive industrial ecosystem.
"Collaboration between the government, associations, and business actors is key so that our industry can not only survive but also become a major player in regional and global markets," she stated.
Keynote speeches were delivered by Vice Chairperson for ALB Development, Benny Soetrisno, and Vice Chairperson for Advocacy & ALB Industry, Achmad Widjaja. Both highlighted the importance of logistics policies, the role of Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) facilities, and regulatory support as drivers of supply chain efficiency and local product competitiveness.
First Session: MSME Strengthening
"Strengthening Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs): Imported Goods â Enemy or Opportunity?" featured MSME representatives such as PT Pesona Dalam Negeri, CV Seduh Tisane Nusantara, PT Dua Putra Anugerah Sejati, and Koperasi Sinar Mulia Sejahtera, along with Customs and KADIN Indonesia.
In this session, the role of Bonded Logistics Centers (PLB) was highlighted as new hope for Indonesian MSMEs. Through PLBs, MSMEs gain easier access to import small quantities of raw materials and packaging with deferred import duties and taxes. Goods can be stored in PLBs and released gradually as needed, providing cost efficiency and production flexibility.
Second Session: Growing Amidst Import Onslaught
The second session titled "Growing Amidst Import Onslaught" featured speakers from the Indonesian Textile Association (API), Indonesian Filament Yarn & Fiber Producers Association (APSyFI), and Directorate General of Customs and Excise. Discussions emphasized the importance of innovation, production efficiency, and fiscal facility optimization to sustain the national textile industry.
Closing
The event concluded with plaque presentations to speakers and a group photo with all participants.
From this FGD, it's hoped that common understanding will be built regarding policies and industrial strategies that can protect and advance domestic products amidst global trade challenges.
