Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Now port logistics service users can apply for Delivery Order (DO) documents online without having to visit the Shipping Line through the iCargo service.
iCargo is an application that facilitates cargo service users, whether owners, intermediaries, or cargo recipients, to apply for DO documents.
This service is a synergy between PT Integrasi Logistik Cipta Solusi Tbk (ILCS), the Association of Priority Lane Companies (APJP), and the Indonesian Bonded Logistics Center Association (PPLBI). This synergy was established in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Applying for DO documents online via iCargo can save time and costs as there's no need to queue, and transactions become more secure through electronic processing. Another advantage of iCargo is time efficiency in post-clearance when handling goods release from ports.
ILCS President Director, Yusron Hariyadi, stated that iCargo aims to enhance digital-based port services in Indonesia, thereby assisting logistics players, especially shipping lines.
"We continue developing iCargo to ensure it remains beneficial and becomes a one-stop solution for the Indonesian Port Community. We hope this application can streamline goods flow processes for smoother and better monitoring," he said in an official statement on Wednesday (8/2/2017).
Meanwhile, PPLBI Chairman Widiyanto stated that as Indonesia's industry grows, technology's role will be crucial for the development of bonded logistics centers.
"iCargo can be one solution for technology implementation in Bonded Logistics Center areas, enabling better services according to international standards," he explained.
The iCargo application is expected to be implemented across all terminal operators and shipping lines integrated within iCargo.
"Business operators can conduct port administration payments and print DO documents online, ensuring more secure DO processes," added Cornelius Atmadjie, APJP representative.
